Introducing… ADOPT A HORSE!
Now that cold weather is approaching and our pasture grass is beginning to die, our equine support costs increase as our horses move to a winter diet of hay, grain, and supplements. The Adopt A Horse fundraising program is designed to help us meet our basic annual expenses, particularly through the winter, when we don’t run programs.
While any time is a great time to support Northern Pathways, donations made during the fall and winter are particularly helpful. This is also the best time to make tax-deductible donations, so that you can take advantage of tax savings going into the new year. As we enter the holiday season, consider an adopted Pathways horse for that picky person on your list. For a donation of $50, you can provide all of a pony’s needs for a month. For $75, you can provide everything a horse needs! This program is designed for flexibility, though - it depends on what YOU want to do. You can opt for a smaller amount and provide for one or two specific needs for your selected horse or pony. Or you can make a year’s commitment to a certain amount per month, which enables us to plan most effectively. When you donate, you’ll get a picture of your “adoptee'' and a brief bio. If you make a year’s commitment to provide a monthly amount of $25 or more, we’ll send you updates on your equine and keep you posted regarding their condition and activities through the year. And if you want to meet your favorite, every annual-commitment donation of at least $30 per month comes with an introduction! Just drop us a text (231-233-1552 or 231-970-1001) or send us an email (npecmi@gmail.com) to schedule your visit! Now that you're aware of our new fundraising campaign, it’s time to meet the stars of the show, our very special horses and ponies! Parkdale Auto Helps Us Keep Running!
We're pleased and proud to say that we were recently selected as Parkdale's charity of the month - a program they're always running to support local community non-profits. As a result, we've received a donation of $1500 from them! This money will go toward our operational costs and our future purchase of a wheelchair-accessible golf cart. If you support our efforts, be sure to thank them for thinking of us! And if you missed the information about our new arena ramp and future accessibility plans, you can read about them here.
